The visa on arrival valid for a thirty-day stay is specifically granted to each tourist at a cost of US$ 20 and to each businessman at a cost of US$ 25 at the Phnom Penh International Airport, Siem Reap International Airport, and International Border Checkpoints. Visas are also granted at Royal Cambodia Embassies or Consulates in foreign countries.

The visa can be extended at the Immigration Departure in Phnom Penh City. Indeed, the free visa (K) is expressly granted to the Cambodian living overseas. And for the ASEAN nationals, entry visas in some forms are not required.

ON ARRIVAL

If you exclusively reserve your journey and accommodation, you will be picked up in the Phnom Penh International Airport or Siem Reap International Airport. And if you make your own journey downtown, you can call a taxi there. From the Phnom Penh International Airport downtown, it takes you 20 minutes by a taxi, and a distance of 8 km costs US$ 7. From the Siem Reap International Airport downtown, it takes you 15 minutes by a taxi, and a distance of 6 km costs US$ 5.

DOMESTIC TRANSPORT

There are many kinds of transport in Phnom Penh; the favorite modes of transport are easily accessible by taxi, car, bus, motorbike and cyclo. The cyclo that can be rented at a maximum cost of US$ 3 per hour kindly provides visitors with the way of viewing major tourist attractions in the city. Paying around US$ 4, you can reach Siem Reap Province from Phnom Penh Capital by bus, and paying around US$ 3-3.50.

you can reach Sihanouk Ville from Phnom Penh Capital by bus. Transport and travel are easily available by train from Phnom Penh Capital to Battambang Province and Sihanouk Ville. A lot of hotel can easily be found in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanouk Ville. The five-star deluxe hotels are particularly concentrated in Phnom Penh Capital and Siem Reap Province. Accommodation widely ranges from guesthouses to hotels. In Siem Reap, there are several small hotels along the main road between the airport and the town. They will charge you for your accommodation at reasonable prices.

Safety and Security

The Cambodia safety and Security are safe and well for tourists and businessman. Tourists can go around the cities at day and at night. However, you had better care for yourself all the time.

Currency EXCHANGE

The Cambodian currency is Riel that can fluctuate a little if it is compared with a dollar. Riel denominations are 100,000; 50,000; 20,000; 10,000; 5,000; 2,000; 1,000; 500; 200; 100; 50. Banknotes, which are printed in both Khmer and English, increase in size according to value and are in different colors.

Airport tax

International Flight: Each foreigner has to pay US$ 25, and each Khmer person has to pay US$ 18 at Phnom Penh International Airport or Siem Reap International Airport. Additionally, the child below the age of 12 has to pay US$ 13, and the child below the age 2 does not need to pay tax on any airports.

Domestic Flight: Each foreigner has to pay US$ 6, and each Khmer person has to pay US$ 5 at Phnom Penh International Airport or Siem Reap International Airport.

Climate

The average temperature is 27oC. It is comprised of two main seasons affected by the tropical monsoon-the wet season from May to October and dry season from November to April. The coolest period lasts from December to January. The monsoon season may carry some heavy rains but these quite often occur during the late evening and overnight and are unlikely to spoil enjoyment.

Food & DRINK

Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanouk Ville are really three delights for connoisseurs of Khmer food. Rice and fish, together with array of herbs, sauces and spices, are the Khmer typical cuisine. Curries and Soup with beef, pork, poultry and seafood can be bought from vendors along the streets. There is no problem in Phnom Penh.
